Our Vacation Bible School was a huge success. This year’s theme was Power Lab Discovering Jesus’ Miraculous Power. We had fun with all the nightly experiments including “walking on water” and the ever-popular “Mentos and Diet Soda” experiment.

Cherokee Baptist Associational missionary Wendell Dutton, his wife Marcille and daughter Andrea joined us on Thursday night. Brother Dutton and family visited the different stations with Pastor Tim and director Cathy Posey. They enjoyed witnessing the Mentos explosion and they were featured in the nightly slide show.

Our mission this year was “Operation Kid to Kid” supporting the purchase of soccer balls for needy children in Africa. We raised enough to buy and ship 20 soccer balls. On Friday, the children signed the balls and included a short message. They also had a special section in their learning guides to fill out and send with the balls. Pastor Tim gathered with the children and prayed over the soccer balls before closing the program. Children and adults alike enjoyed this fun-filled adventure. Commencement was held on Sunday evening. We had an enrollment of 160 and, best of all, had 17 children give their hearts to Jesus.
